WHBM holds their annual dress event
White House Black Market just recently held their annual spring dress event. The event took place at every WHBM store from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m on a weekday night. Invitations were sent out to random Black Book members, but any customer that came in the store was included in the event. The stores provided refreshments including cookies and water and gave out roses to customers who made a purchase.
The event was used to promote WHMB's new spring dress collection. Store employees were encouraged to wear dresses and to talk about the new dresses with each of the customers. The dress event will continue throughout the rest of the month of April, but will not be as elaborate as the first night.

WHBM introduces new collection
This month White House | Black Market introduced the new Ingenue Collection. According to the White House | Black Market Web site, the collection is "a feminine line of mix-and-match pieces." The collection includes tops, skirts, shorts, pants, and jackets. The pieces have "desk-to-dinner versatality."
The new collection is being introduced just in time for spring and summer. The pieces are advertised as great traveling clothing. Chico's adopts new software
According to a Liquid Machinces Inc. press release, on Feb. 26, 2007, Chico's Inc. FAS announced that they would be using Liquid Machines Inc. "to secure and control access to some of its most critical and sensitive company electronic data." Liquid Machines Inc. is at the top in Enterprise Rights Management (ERM) solutions. Chico's will be using Liquid Machines Document Control. The new software will allow Chico's to share information with executives and staff in the organization while keeping control over who has entry to specific data.

Board Gains One but Company loses Executive Vice President
According to a Chico’s news release on Feb. 22, David F. Dyer was appointed to Chico’s Board of Directors. His seat will be effective March 5. Dyer is the former president and chief executive officer of Tommy Hilfiger Corporation. He has more than 35 years of retail industry experience. With Dyer, Chico’s know has nine board members.
According to a Chico’s news release on Feb. 8, Charles Kleman, executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer for Chico’s announced that he would be stepping down from his position. Kleman will stay with his position until a successor is found. Kleman will continue working within Chico’s, but in the area of Investor Relations and financial modeling. He hopes to also chair Chico’s Charities Inc. Chico’s will conduct a national search to replace Kleman.

White House Black Market donates to LBBC
For the past two years, White House Black Market has participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is the month of October. During the month White House Black Market sells a few extra items such as key rings, umbrellas and watches. One hundred percent of the proceeds from these items is donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The money raised funds LBBC's education and support programs for women affected by breast cancer, the recently diagnosed and those living with advanced stage disease. According to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Web site, the organization is nonprofit and "dedicated to empowering all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life."
White House Black Market advertises this breast cancer campaign with signs on store windows, in its catalog and on its Web site. Employees and mannequins in the stores wear pink ribbon pins and pink breast cancer awareness bracelets. In 2005 White House Black Market donated $110,000 to LBBC. The amount donated in 2006 could not be found.

Tunics are In
White House Black Market is introducing its spring line. You can now shop in store, on the Web site and through the catalog. So what is the hot item of the spring? White House Black Market is revolving its spring collection around its tunics. WHMB tunics come in a variety of styles and lengths.
